Program Overview

The Young Artist Summer Mentorship Program is an 8-week guided art experience designed to support creative growth, artistic skill development, confidence-building, and portfolio creation in a structured and encouraging environment.

Program Schedule

  • Sessions are held weekly on scheduled program dates.

  • Class begins promptly at the scheduled start time.

  • Parents/guardians are responsible for timely drop-off and pick-up.

  • Please arrive no earlier than 10 minutes before class begins.

  • Students should be picked up promptly at the end of class unless prior arrangements have been made.

Arrival & Pick-Up Policy

To help maintain a focused and safe creative environment:

  • Students may be dropped off at the beginning of class.

  • Parents/guardians are expected to pick students up immediately after class ends.

  • Repeated late pick-ups may result in additional fees or dismissal from the program if ongoing.

Waiting Area Policy

This is a structured mentorship environment rather than an open public event space.

  • Seating and studio space are reserved for enrolled students only during sessions.

  • Non-participating siblings, guests, or additional children should not remain in the studio during class time unless previously approved.

  • Parents are welcome to return at pick-up time or attend designated showcase events.

Student Conduct & Behavior Expectations

Students are expected to:

  • Treat instructors, peers, materials, and studio space respectfully

  • Participate positively in lessons and discussions

  • Follow safety instructions and studio guidelines

  • Use materials responsibly

  • Encourage and respect the creativity of others

Disruptive, unsafe, disrespectful, or consistently inappropriate behavior may result in parent communication and possible dismissal from the program without refund if necessary to protect the learning environment.

Take-Home Practice & Creative Assignments

Students may occasionally receive optional or guided take-home creative exercises between sessions to encourage continued growth and exploration outside of class time.

These assignments are intended to:

  • Strengthen developing skills

  • Encourage independent creativity

  • Build consistency and artistic confidence

  • Support portfolio development

Artwork & Portfolio Development

Students will create artwork throughout the program that may contribute to a small curated portfolio by the end of the summer. Portfolio outcomes may vary based on attendance, participation, and effort.

Showcase Participation

The optional end-of-program gallery-style showcase is intended to celebrate student growth and creativity in a supportive environment for friends and family.

Participation is encouraged but not required.

Attendance & Missed Sessions

Due to the structured nature of the mentorship program:

  • Missed sessions are not guaranteed to be rescheduled

  • No refunds or credits will be provided for missed classes

  • Families are encouraged to communicate absences as early as possible

Payment & Enrollment

  • Enrollment is confirmed only after payment and registration are completed

  • Space is limited and reserved on a first-come, first-served basis

  • Program fees are non-refundable unless otherwise stated

Media & Photography

Photos or videos of student artwork and studio activities may occasionally be used for program promotion, social media, or portfolio purposes unless a parent/guardian requests otherwise in writing.

Safety & Studio Care

Students should wear clothing appropriate for art activities. While care is taken to maintain a clean environment, some art materials may stain clothing.

Please notify the instructor of any allergies, medical concerns, or accommodations prior to participation.

Parent Communication

Clear and respectful communication is appreciated throughout the program. Updates, reminders, and important information may be shared through text, email, or the chosen communication platform.
